During the 19th century, the Bushy Creek community was known as Running Brushy, after the spring that created the headwaters of the creek that had the same name. In 1873, Harriet and George Cluck bought the 329 acres of land which included Running Brushy spring. This ranch formed the heart of the community that today is known as Cedar Park.

It was only in 1887 when Emmet Cluck changed the name of this community to Cedar Park. It had then undergone several changes, from being named Bruggerhoff by the railroad company official with the introduction of a railroad that passes thru this area. In 1892, 0.5 acres of land was built just beside the train depot and was transformed into a strolling park. The park became one of the main attractions for the Austinites whenever they took trips on the train.

Today, Brushy Creek is one of the prime locations to buy Cedar Park TX real estate. Aside from its rich history, its scenic location is what attracts a lot of property investors.
